New 9/80 Work Week

    A change to the City Hall 9/80 schedule will take effect beginning Friday, August 29, 2025.

    The City Council has approved transitioning from our current modified 9/80 schedule—where employees have the first and third Friday of each month off—to a true 9/80 schedule, where employees will have every other Friday off. This change is being made to align with standard 9/80 practices and to improve consistency in scheduling.

    Under the new schedule, August 29—typically a working "fifth Friday"—will now be the first scheduled Friday off under the new pattern. This change will shift some of the Fridays employees are currently scheduled to be off.

    For example:

    • Under the current schedule, Fridays off in September and October are the 5th and 19th (September), and the 3rd and 17th (October).
    • Under the new schedule, Fridays off will shift to September 12th and 26th, and October 10th and 24th.

    Please note that Fridays off in November and December will remain unchanged.

    Action Required:

    With this change, please review any existing time off requests that may be affected. You may have requested a Friday off that you will no longer be scheduled to work—or vice versa—so please update your requests as needed. Additionally, please review any regularly scheduled events or meetings that may fall on a Friday impacted by this change and make any necessary adjustments.
