    Commuter Resources

    As required by the Bay Area Air District Regulation 14: Rule 1, the City of Fairfield must offer its employees commuter benefits as an employer with 50 or more full-time employees located inside the Air District’s jurisdiction. The City currently meets compliance via Option 4A: Alternative Commuter Benefit. This webpage is meant to notify employees of our commuter benefits and how to take advantage of them.

    Limited Telework Schedule

    Eligible employees may work a limited telework schedule, as outlined in Section 200.59 of the Administrative Policy.

     Day Off Icon

    Compressed Workweek

    Most City employees work a 9/80 schedule (eight nine-hour shifts plus one eight-hour shift for every two week period), with every other Friday off.

    EV Chargers at Chamber

    Electric Vehicle Implementation

    The City offers electric vehicle chargers near City worksites.

    Kentucky Street Parking Lot:

    • The Clipper Creek EV Chargers have been deactivatedand will be replaced by ChargePoint chargers designated for official City EVs only
      • The two parking spots adjacent to the Clipper Creek chargers will be reserved for City vehicles
    • The new EVCS chargers across from the former Clipper Creek chargers have been activated
      • Additional chargers are available near the Fairfield Civic Center Library
      • These are public chargers and are not free

    Harry Price Drive / Chamber of Commerce Parking Lot

    • The new EVCS chargers have not been activated yet.

    FAST - Fairfield and Suisun Transit

    Taking the bus is also a great option to get to work! FAST has bus stops close to City Hall, located on Kentucky Street. FAST services can also be found on the  Transit app (Google Play App Store). The Transit app can help you plan your bus trips and provides real-time information on bus routes so you always arrive on time!
